Assam Rifles strengthens youth outreach in Manipur

July 20, 2026 | BK News Service

Imphal, July 19: The Assam Rifles, under the Spear Corps, organised a series of community outreach programmes across Maibam Chingmang, Lilong, Moreh and Churachandpur in Manipur, reaffirming its commitment to youth empowerment, community engagement and nation-building.

The initiatives brought together students, aspiring defence recruits and local residents through a range of interactive activities aimed at creating awareness about career opportunities, encouraging leadership qualities and strengthening trust between the armed forces and civil society.
A major highlight of the programme was the pre-recruitment guidance sessions, where young aspirants received detailed information on the recruitment process, eligibility criteria, physical and written examination requirements, and preparation strategies for joining the Indian Armed Forces. The sessions were designed to motivate youth to pursue careers in the defence services while equipping them with practical guidance to improve their chances of success.
As part of the outreach, the Assam Rifles also organised "A Day with Company Commander", an interactive initiative that gave participants an opportunity to engage directly with Army officers. The programme provided valuable insights into military life, discipline, leadership, teamwork and the values that define service to the nation. Participants were encouraged to ask questions and interact freely with officers, helping dispel misconceptions about military careers and inspiring greater confidence among the youth.
In another significant event, the force felicitated candidates who successfully cleared the Agniveer written examination, recognising their achievement and encouraging them as they prepare for the next stages of the recruitment process. The successful candidates were applauded for their hard work and determination, with officials expressing hope that their success would inspire more young people from the region to serve the nation.
The outreach programmes also focused on promoting social harmony, confidence-building and constructive engagement with local communities. Officials highlighted the importance of youth participation in nation-building and urged students to channel their energy towards education, skill development and disciplined careers.
The initiatives were widely appreciated by local residents, who welcomed the continued efforts of the Assam Rifles to mentor young people and strengthen military-civil cooperation. The programmes reaffirmed the force's commitment to fostering trust, creating opportunities for youth and contributing to the overall development and stability of the region.
