Aizawl, Oct 1: Assam Rifles provided basic essential items to village communities in Mimbung, Hrianghmun, Teikhang, Kawlbem and Silam in Mizoram as part of its ongoing community outreach efforts.
The assistance was aimed at improving infrastructure and facilities in community halls, enabling residents to use the spaces more effectively for local meetings, social gatherings and community activities.
The initiative is intended to support community needs in border areas while encouraging greater interaction and cooperation between security forces and local residents.
Community halls serve as important spaces for village-level discussions, cultural activities and public gatherings. Strengthening these facilities can help communities organise such activities in a more convenient and structured manner.

Such community-oriented measures form part of the force’s continuing outreach programmes in the border regions, with emphasis on supporting local communities and fostering people-to-force connect.
The assistance reflects the focus on strengthening relations between security forces and residents while contributing to the development of basic community infrastructure in remote areas of Mizoram.
