
Jiribam, May 20: Assam Rifles under the aegis of Spear Corps successfully conducted a month-long pre-recruitment training programme for Agniveer 2026 aspirants in Jiribam aimed at preparing local youth for recruitment into the armed forces.
The intensive training programme witnessed participation of 46 candidates from the region who were provided structured coaching and physical preparation to enhance their chances of selection under the Agniveer recruitment scheme.
Officials said the candidates underwent rigorous training covering Physical Fitness Tests, Common Entrance Examination preparation, Computer Based Test orientation and Medical Screening procedures. The programme was designed to familiarize aspirants with the recruitment process while improving their physical endurance, discipline and confidence.
Experienced instructors and Army personnel guided the participants through daily physical drills, written examination modules and mock assessment exercises. Special focus was also laid on time management, interview preparation and awareness regarding recruitment standards and eligibility criteria.
The initiative was organised as part of Assam Rifles’ ongoing efforts to motivate and empower youth from remote and border areas by creating awareness about career opportunities in the armed forces.
Participants expressed gratitude to the organisers, saying the training programme helped them gain confidence and better understanding of the recruitment process. Many aspirants described the initiative as a valuable opportunity, particularly for youth from areas with limited access to professional coaching facilities.
Officials said such programmes not only help prepare youth for military recruitment but also promote discipline, fitness and constructive engagement among young people in the region.
