Kiphire , Oct 10: Assam Rifles organised free medical camps at Mimi and Mutingkhong villages in Kiphire district of Nagaland, providing healthcare assistance to 164 villagers, including men, women and children.
The camps offered free health check-ups, medical consultations and medicines, helping residents access essential healthcare services closer to their homes.
A total of 164 people benefited from the initiative, comprising 63 males, 70 females and 31 children. The camps were particularly beneficial for residents of the remote, hilly villages, where difficult terrain and limited access to healthcare facilities often pose challenges in seeking timely medical attention.
Medical consultations and the distribution of medicines enabled villagers to receive basic healthcare support without having to undertake difficult journeys to distant medical facilities.
The Village Councils and local residents expressed their gratitude to Assam Rifles for organising the camps, appreciating the force’s efforts to reach communities living in geographically challenging areas.
The initiative reflects Assam Rifles’ continued commitment to community welfare and its efforts to supplement healthcare access in remote parts of the Northeast. Such outreach programmes also help strengthen ties between security forces and local communities through humanitarian assistance.
The medical camps underscored the importance of taking essential health services to underserved populations, particularly in isolated rural areas where access to medical care remains a significant challenge.
