
Jammu, Jan 12: The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Secretariat has issued the provisional calendar for the sittings of the 5th Session of the Legislative Assembly of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, scheduled to begin on February 2 at Jammu.
As per the calendar, the session will commence on February 2, with the Lieutenant Governor’s Address to the House.
This will be followed by a three-day discussion on the Motion of Thanks on the LG’s Address from February 3 to February 5, culminating with the reply to the discussion.
On February 6, the government will present the Annual Financial Statement of Expenditure for the year 2026–27, along with the Supplementary Statement of Expenditure for 2025–26.
The Budget will then be taken up for general discussion on February 7, 9 and 10, with the government’s reply scheduled on February 10.
The Assembly will take up Demands for Grants from February 11 to February 13, and again from February 16 to February 19, with holidays and off days in between. February 14 has been marked as an off day, while February 8 and February 15 will be holidays.
The Appropriation Bills are scheduled to be taken up on Friday, February 27, followed by Government Business on February 28. The House will resume further business in the last week of March, with Private Members’ Bills on March 30 and April 2, and Private Members’ Resolutions on March 31 and April 3. Government Business is again listed for April 4, 2026.

The session is expected to witness detailed deliberations on the government’s financial roadmap, policy priorities, and legislative agenda for the coming year.
