
Baramulla, Jan 11: Baramulla girls who brought laurels to the district were accorded a warm felicitation at Railway Station, Sopore, by the (DySP) DAR Sopore, along with sportspersons of Sopore and proud family members. The reception reflected the collective pride and encouragement of the local community for their achievements.
It was a historic and proud moment for District Baramulla and Jammu & Kashmir as heartfelt congratulations were extended to Ulfat Mushtaq, Mehak Mushtaq, Sofia Hilal, Sobiya Manzoor, and Hoor-i-ein Lone for their remarkable performances at the Khelo India Asmita Women’s League held in Kurukshetra, Haryana, from January 10 to 11, 2026. Ulfat Mushtaq secured 10th place in the 30 km Time Trial and 11th place in the 60 km Mass Start, while Mehak Mushtaq achieved 12th place in the 30 km Time Trial and displayed exceptional grit by finishing 13th in the 60 km. Sofia Hilal and Sobiya Manzoor delivered outstanding performances by securing 7th and 8th positions respectively, and Hoor-i-ein Lone further added to the district’s pride with a commendable 16th place finish.
