Baramulla police launch sports event

Baramulla, Mar 27: Police in Baramulla organized the inaugural matches of Kho-Kho and Cricket at Wagila Wagoora playground under the Civic Action Programme, aiming to encourage youth participation in constructive and healthy activities.

A total of 16 teams are taking part in the event, with 8 teams competing in each sport. The opening day witnessed enthusiastic participation and a spirited display of sportsmanship among the players.
The inaugural function was graced by the Chief Guest, Ms. Neha Jain (IPS), Addl. SP Baramulla, along with officers from various departments including Revenue, Education, and Health. Members of civil society and retired police personnel were also present, reflecting strong community support.
The tournament is scheduled to continue for at least three days, providing a platform for local youth to showcase their talent and engage in positive pursuits.
Police remain committed to fostering a positive environment by engaging youth in constructive initiatives, strengthening community relations, and ensuring a peaceful and secure atmosphere across the district.
