
Srinagar, Mar 12: Social Welfare Department (SWD), SANKALP- Hub for Empowerment of Women- Mission Shakti Srinagar conducted Sensitization Programme at SP College today.
A sensitization program on the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative was organized to raise awareness about the importance of protecting and educating the girl child.
The program was attended by several resource persons who spoke on different aspects related to the safety, rights, and empowerment of women and girls.
Resource persons from the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar, highlighted the legal rights of women and the support mechanisms available through legal services institutions.
Syed Faisal Khalil from Cyber Police Srinagar addressed the participants on cyber safety, focusing on online threats, responsible social media use, and measures to protect young girls from cybercrime. Dr Tabzeer Yaseen , Assistant Professor, also spoke on the occasion and emphasized the importance of education, gender equality, and community participation in ensuring the success of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign.
The speakers encouraged participants to actively support initiatives that promote the dignity, safety, and education of girls, and stressed the collective responsibility of society in building a safer and more inclusive environment for women.
