Be Wary of Deception and Blind Faith

February 08, 2025 | Athar ul Islam

Truth and reason are very important in life, but sadly, some people follow lies and blind beliefs. This stops them from growing and makes society backward, fearful, and unreasonable. .

In Kashmir, numerous impostor spiritual leaders are exploiting religion for personal gain. It is disheartening that our society harbors such self-proclaimed saints, and many unsuspecting individuals fall prey to their deceit. Faith is meant to cultivate wisdom and awareness, yet today, people blindly follow ignorant and ungodly figures, revering them as holy men and even elevating them to a near-divine status.
This reflects how far we have strayed from authentic Islam. We acknowledge as spiritual mentors those who neither comprehend religion nor distinguish between the Quran and Sunnah. These deceitful figures will persist in their disgraceful trade unless people awaken and recognize their manipulation.
These so-called saints lack both knowledge and piety, yet people remain ensnared by their false assurances. Some have even gone to the extent of erecting a counterfeit Kaaba, an outright affront to Islam, the Quran, and the Sunnah. This should serve as a stark reminder for us to return to genuine faith and cease endorsing such deceptions.

Fake Spiritual Leaders: A Dangerous Deception

Fraudulent spiritual leaders exploit religion for personal gain, damaging the reputation of true scholars and Sufi saints. Their lies create doubt even about genuine religious figures. People must avoid these deceivers and follow scholars who adhere to the Quran and Hadith.

The Crimes of Fake Peers

These impostors engage in serious crimes, including drug abuse, murder, and exploitation of women. They are not spiritual guides but mere frauds and scammers who mislead innocent people.

Solution to the Problem

"No one should accept someone as their Master or Spiritual Guide without thinking, rushing, or doing proper research, no matter their personality or spiritual position. If a person follows someone without careful thought or investigation, they cannot tell the difference between truth and lies. Before choosing a Spiritual Guide, it is important to check their teachings, behavior, and beliefs."
Follow true scholars who teach according to the Quran and Hadith, not for personal gain. Learn Islam yourself to avoid being misled by fake spiritual leaders. Educate yourself and others to protect society from deception.
Whenever a fake peer or fraud is involved in cheating, lying, or any un-Islamic act, it is important to expose them in front of people. If we stay silent, more people will fall into their trap, and society will continue to suffer from deception and misguidance. Speak up against such people, share the truth with others, and use social media or other ways to spread awareness. This will help stop their business and prevent people from being fooled.
We should not rely only on others to teach us religion; instead, we must try to understand it ourselves. Read the Quran and Hadith, learn from honest scholars, and develop the habit of knowing the basic principles of Islam. When we have true knowledge of our religion, no fake peer or fraud can mislead us. Understanding Islam helps us see the difference between truth and lies and brings us closer to Allah.
We must stop supporting people who use religion to make money. These fake spiritual leaders, cheaters, and so-called saints trick people by showing false miracles, selling amulets, and offering prayers for money. They take advantage of people's faith to fill their own pockets.
If we stop visiting them, refuse to buy their amulets or services, and tell others about their lies, their business will end. When people turn away from these frauds, they won’t be able to fool anyone anymore, and society will be safe from their tricks. That’s why it is important to understand their reality and completely avoid them, so innocent people don’t get trapped.
