A man is looting people in the name of Army. A couple of victims said that a man identifies himself an army soldier Srikanth Yadav seeks information from people on phone and WhatsApp saying that army will transfer money into their accounts. “This man uses multiple phone numbers and once you provide him bank information, amount automatically gets debited from your account after sometime. He usually contacts his victims through WhatsApp.”
Some of the phone numbers this man uses are 9266600223 and 8930026798. A victim from Kashmir Valley said that the said person seeks ATM and Adhar card details and even sends his photographs donning army uniform.
“I lost Rs 9,000 in a jiffy. Other victims who hail from different parts also have been deprived of their hard earned money,” Yawar Ahmed said.
A written complaint already stands registered at Cyber Police Jammu as this man has looted a number people from Jammu city as well. Sources said that multiple FIR’s stand registered against this con.
When Kcontact this man on one of his numbers, the caller said that Srikanth Yadav was posted in Ladakh and he has been transferred to some other Unit. He said that it is unfortunate that somebody is using the name of army for wrong deeds.
“When I asked him on phone why he indulged in fraud, he simply deleted all his WhatsApp texts, and blocked me after showering abuses,” the victim said.
The victim said that he demands photographs of ATM and Adhar Card by showing the photographs of his alleged army unit. “He talks in Fauji style and tells you army has a scheme under which people are being helped and money is transferred in their accounts.”
The victims appealed people to beware of this con and never share any bank detail with him. (KNT)
