
The last day of the year witnessed two thrilling encounters in the HexaMed BIG Jammu Kashmir Premier League (BIG JKPL) 2025–26, organised by 92.7 BIG FM, at the University of Jammu Ground, with Nice Gems and Sultan Warriors Baramulla emerging victorious in their respective matches.
The league is being conducted with the support of HexaMed Diagnostics as the Title Partner, CT University as the Powered By Partner, Kanwal Spices and Oxford Hospital as the Associate Partners, JK Sports Time as the Live Streaming Partner, and Pepsi as the Beverage Partner.
In the first match of the day, Nice Gems took on Power Panthers. After winning the toss, Power Panthers elected to field first. Batting first, Nice Gems delivered a powerful performance, posting an imposing total of 238 for 6.
Raghav Thakur was the star of the innings, smashing a blistering 71 runs off just 21 balls, including six towering sixes, putting the opposition bowlers under immense pressure.
In reply, Power Panthers managed only 135 runs, falling well short of the target. Naveen led the bowling attack with three wickets, maintaining tight lines and regular breakthroughs. Nice Gems sealed a comprehensive 103-run victory.
Achintya Khajuria was adjudged the Man of the Match for his excellent all-round performance, scoring 45 runs off 21 balls and claiming two wickets.
The first match was graced by the Chief Guest, . Amit Bhasin, SSP Traffic, who appreciated the players for their competitive spirit and lauded the organisers for successfully conducting the league.
The second match of the day featured a contest between Sultan Warriors Baramulla and Valley Stars Ganderbal. Winning the toss, Sultan Warriors Baramulla elected to bat first and posted a competitive total of 150 runs.
Asim Bashir top-scored with a well-compiled 49 runs off 26 balls, including five sixes, while Nasir Ganie provided a quickfire contribution of 27 runs off 14 balls. Despite a strong bowling effort by Nadeem Darr, who claimed five wickets, Sultan Warriors managed to set a defendable target.
In response, Valley Stars Ganderbal were bundled out for 104 runs. Asim Rather produced an impressive bowling spell, returning figures of 4 wickets for 14 runs in 3 overs, helping Sultan Warriors secure a 46-run victory.
Asim Bashir was adjudged the Man of the Match for his match-winning performance.
The second match was attended by Ms. Lone Sumaiya, Under-19 Coach, JKCA Women’s Team, as the Special Guest, who encouraged the players and appreciated the competitive cricket on display.
