
Three civilians including the owner of famed Bindroo Medicate Makhan Lal Bindroo were shot dead unknown gunmen in Kashmir within a span of few hours on Tuesday.
A police spokesman said, “At 7.25 pm, terrorists fired upon owner of Bindroo Medicate namely Makhan Lal Bindroo near Iqbal Park in uptown Srinagar.”
He received multiple bullet injuries and was shifted to SMHS hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
Immediately after the militant attack, police and paramilitary personnel laid siege around the area and conducted search operation to track down the militants responsible for the attack.
Bindroo was among the Kashmiri Pandits, who had not migrated from the Valley after eruption of militancy in J&K in 1990. He was operating his pharmacy Bindroo Medicate.
In another incident, gunmen shot dead a non-local near Madina Chowk Lalbazar in Srinagar.
“At 8.15 pm, terrorists killed one non-local near Madina Chowk Lalbazar in Srinagar,” the police spokesman said.
The deceased was been identified as Virender Paswan R/o Bhagalpur Bihar, a street hawker, presently residing at Alamgari Bazar Zadibal.
After the killing, security men rushed to the area and launched combing and search operation to track down the attackers.
In the third attack, gunmen shot dead Sumo Association President Naidkhai at Hajin area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district in the evening.
“Another terror incident reported in Shahgund area of Bandipora where, coward terrorists shot dead a civilian,” the police spokesman said.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Shafi Lone resident of Naidkhai.
After the attack, police, CRPF and army men rushed to the area and launched search operation to track down the militants.
The police spokesman said police have registered cases regarding the three incidents.
“Investigation is in progress and officers continue to work to establish the full circumstances of these terror crimes,” he said.
The killing of three civilians has drawn wide condemnation.
All the political parties including NC, PDP, Congress, BJP, Apni Party, Peoples Conference and others strongly condemned the killing of civilians.
