Srinagar: Senior BJP leader Dr. Ali Muhammad Mir said that Hazrat Ameer-e-Kabeer Mir Syed Ali Hamdani (RA) played a pivotal role in spreading the message of Islam in Kashmir and urged people to uphold unity, peace and communal harmony on the occasion of the Urs Mubarak.

Speaking on the sidelines of the religious observances, Dr. Mir said that Hazrat Ameer-e-Kabeer (RA), popularly known as Shah-e-Hamdan, not only contributed to the spread of Islamic teachings in Kashmir but also laid the foundation of ethical values, social harmony and cultural enrichment in the region.
He said the teachings of the revered Sufi saint continue to guide society towards brotherhood, compassion and peaceful coexistence, especially in times when social cohesion is increasingly important.
Dr. Mir appealed to people from all sections of society to draw inspiration from the saint’s message of love, tolerance and unity, stressing that Kashmir’s strength lies in its pluralistic and harmonious traditions.
He further emphasized that Urs gatherings should serve as a reminder of shared heritage and collective responsibility to maintain peace and mutual respect among communities.
The senior leader also highlighted that the legacy of Hazrat Ameer-e-Kabeer (RA) remains deeply embedded in Kashmir’s spiritual and cultural identity, influencing generations across faiths.
The remarks were made as devotees across Kashmir observed Urs Mubarak with prayers, remembrance and religious gatherings dedicated to Hazrat Ameer-e-Kabeer Mir Syed Ali Hamdani (RA).
