
Srinagar, Oct 4: The BJP Minority Morcha on Saturday organised a mega convention at Lal Chowk, followed by a Tiranga Rally to Balidan Stambh, where party leaders and workers paid floral tributes to martyrs on Balidan Diwas.
The programme marked the first visit and public programme in Kashmir of BJP Minority Morcha National President Kunwar Basit Ali. Union Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti V. Somanna attended as Guest of Honour, along with BJP J&K Minority Morcha president Ranjoth Singh Nalwa and other senior party leaders.
A large number of party workers, office-bearers, youth and supporters participated in the convention and rally, carrying the Tricolour and raising patriotic slogans.
Addressing the gathering, Basit Ali said the youth of Kashmir possess immense talent, energy and potential, and asserted that the Minority Morcha would work to connect with and empower them.
“We will embrace the youth of Kashmir, engage with them and channelise their talent and potential towards nation-building. The youth of Kashmir have a major role to play in the future of the country,” he said.
He said the Tiranga Rally from Lal Chowk to Balidan Stambh was held as a tribute to martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice for the unity, integrity and sovereignty of the nation.
Somanna said significant work was being undertaken in Jammu and Kashmir in railway connectivity and the Jal Shakti sector. He said ongoing infrastructure and development initiatives would contribute substantially to the region’s future and expressed confidence that Kashmir would witness further transformation under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Senior BJP leader and J&K co-incharge for minorities Er. Aijaz Hussain said Jammu and Kashmir had witnessed significant changes under the Modi government, particularly after the abrogation of Article 370.
He said the next major transformation should focus on the youth.
“Jammu & Kashmir has changed under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, and we are now looking forward to seeing a major change in the mindset of our youth. Our young generation must become partners in development, peace and nation-building,” Hussain said.
Ranjoth Singh Nalwa also participated in the Tiranga Rally and tribute programme.
The rally culminated at Balidan Stambh, where Basit Ali, Somanna, Hussain, Nalwa and other senior BJP leaders paid floral tributes to the martyrs and observed Balidan Diwas.
The programme underscored the BJP Minority Morcha’s focus on youth engagement, national integration, development and strengthening organisational outreach among minority communities in Jammu and Kashmir.
