
Jishnu praises them as valuable additions to his library
A team of 14 senior editors and journalists from Jammu and Kashmir, which is currently on a five-day visit to Telangana, paid a courtesy call on Governor Jishnu Dev Varma on Wednesday.
During the interaction, Farooq Wani, Editor-in-Chief of Brighter Kashmir, presented Governor Varma his two books titled ‘The Changing Colours of Chinar’ and ‘Sheikh-ul-Alam (RA), Kashmir’s Mystic Sufi Saint’.
Commending Wani, Governor Varma expressed his appreciation for the gifted books, stating that they were a timely addition to his library.
He mentioned that always have a keen interest in the developments taking place in Jammu and Kashmir, especially after August 2019, following the withdrawal of Article 370.
He said he looked forward to reading both books, noting that The Changing Colours of Chinar would be of particular interest to him as it covers a wide range of topics and issues related to J&K and their impact on the people there.
He also remarked that the book on Sufi saint Sheikh-ul-Alam (RA) is a brilliant exploration of the history of Sufism in India and its influence on Kashmiri culture.
