
In connection with the celebration of National Sports Day 2025, the Department of Youth Services & Sports District Baramulla organized a series of ‘Sunday’s on Cycle’ events across different zones of the district, promoting fitness, drug-free living, and youth empowerment through the spirit of cycling.
The main district-level event commenced from HSS Baramulla and culminated at Dakbanglow Baramulla, with hundreds of enthusiastic students pedaling their way to highlight the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
At the zonal level, Zone Sopore hosted a mega cycling rally at Subhana Stadium Sopore, where around 120 participants from all age groups showcased their passion for cycling. The event was inaugurated by a prominent social activist of Sopore in the presence of dignitaries. Later, the position holders were honored with trophies in recognition of their efforts.
Similarly, Zone Chandanwari also conducted the cycling event successfully, encouraging mass participation and reinforcing the message of sports culture, fitness, and youth engagement in the region.
Adding further vibrancy, Zone Singpora Kalan organized its own ‘Sunday’s on Cycle’ event, starting from Kanispora and culminating at GDC Boys Khawaja Bagh. The position holders in this rally too were felicitated with trophies and medals.
These district-wide initiatives not only celebrated the legacy of National Sports Day but also sent a strong message of community health, youth enthusiasm, and cycling as a symbol of fitness and drug-free living.
