In a historic feat, over 20,000 young men and women from Baramulla created a world record by performing the Largest Ladishah performance ever at the "Kashur Riwaaj 2025" cultural festival. "We have been rehearsing for almost a month. Now we feel all the effort was worth it. This is a great achievement and we are proud to be part of the world record," said Zubair Mir one of the young participants. In addition to the main venue at Prof Showket Ali Indoor Stadium, the event was also conducted simultaneously at 162 locations throughout the district, streamed live to the audience, ensuring widespread participation and engagement. This inclusive approach allowed communities across the valley to join in the festivities, fostering a sense of shared celebration. Hon’ble Lt Governor of UT of J & K, Shri Manoj Sinha was the Chief Guest. Speaking on the occasion, the Hon’ble LG congratulated the youth of Baramulla for this historic achievement and said “The Indian Army remains closely connected with the people of Kashmir and actively supports the preservation of their heritage and traditions. The Army and District Administration has worked alongside the community, contributing to the empowerment, education, skilling, infrastructure development and continuation of cultural practices and values, demonstrating a commitment to the region’s cultural legacy, while also guarding the nation’s borders and maintaining peace and promoting development in the hinterland. “ The District Administration, led by Shri Minga Sherpa, DC, ensured the smooth execution of the event. Attendees had the privilege of witnessing remarkable performances and celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Kashmir. Mr. Touseef Raina, Youth Leader from Baramulla commented, "Kashmiri culture is a melting pot of diversity and faith, but today's youth show declining interest because it is not fashionable. The initiative of the army and district authorities has revived interest in our age-old traditions."
