Boys & Girls Basketball tournaments concludes in Pulwama

Pulwama, Feb 16: Boys & Girls Basketball Tournaments under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2025–26 concludes at Sports Stadium Pulwama. The concluding ceremony was presided over by SSP Pulwama Ms. Tanushree-IPS in the presence of senior officers and enthusiastic spectators.

Addressing the gathering, SSP Pulwama emphasized that sports not only enhance physical fitness but also instill discipline, confidence and team spirit among youth. She stated that J&K Police remains steadfast in its resolve to provide constructive platforms to young boys and girls, enabling them to channelize their potential in a positive direction.
The Boys category final witnessed an exciting contest between HR Ballers Basketball Club Pulwama and Brothers Basketball Club Pulwama, with HR Ballers Basketball Club Pulwama emerging as champions. The winning team was awarded ₹20,000 and a trophy, while the runner-up team received ₹15,000 along with a trophy.
In the Girls category, Dolphin Basketball Club Pulwama secured the championship title after defeating Solace International Basketball Club Pulwama in a spirited final. The winners were presented with ₹20,000 and a trophy, whereas the runner-up team received ₹15,000 and a trophy.
Individual performances were also acknowledged, with the Player of the Tournament in both categories receiving ₹5,000 each, and the Player of the Match in both categories awarded ₹3,000 each. As part of the encouragement measures, sports uniforms were distributed to all teams that qualified for the finals.
J&K Police reaffirmed its dedication to nurturing young talent and strengthening police-public partnership through such youth-oriented initiatives. The tournaments concluded amid appreciation for the players, organizers and officials who contributed to the smooth and successful conduct of the event.
