
Muzaffarpur, Dec 10: The much-anticipated East Zone Inter-University Volleyball (Men) Championship, hosted by B.R. Ambedkar Bihar University (BRABU), was formally inaugurated today, December 10, at the Tirhut College of Physical Education in Jhapaha, Muzaffarpur. B.R. Ambedkar Bihar University Inaugurates Championship with 53 University Teams, bringing together competitors from across the East Zone for the tournament that will run until December 14.
The inauguration event was graced by Dr. Kaushal Kishore, Commissioner of Tirhut division , as the Chief Guest, and Sri Rakesh Kumar, DIG, CRPF Muzaffarpur, as the Distinguished Guest.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dinesh Chandra Rai presided over the ceremony and highlighted the deeper purpose of the event, stating, "Sports is not merely a means of entertainment; it is a powerful medium for nation-building." He further emphasized, "Physical activity and the discipline learned on the field are indispensable for the holistic development of our students." He also appealed to all the participating teams, saying, "I urge all players to uphold the highest standards of integrity and true sports spirit throughout this championship." He concluded, "We are proud to host this event for the second consecutive year, ratifying BRABU’s commitment to the 'Khelo India' and 'Fit India' vision and overall promotion of sports culture in the university.
In his inaugural address, Dr. Kaushal Kishore lauded BRABU’s commitment to promoting sports, stating, "This championship is a perfect platform to nurture national-level talent and define the future of Indian sports."
Sri Rakesh Kumar, the Distinguished Guest, emphasized the role of sports in character building. "Participation in sports is essential for developing leadership and teamwork, demanding perseverance and mutual respect."
The inaugural session was conducted by Dr. Amar Bahadur Shukla and the vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Ashok Kumar Sah, Also present during the inauguration were Madam VC Smt. Bibha Rai, Proctor Prof. BS Rai, Registrar Prof. Sameer Kumar Sharma, LS College Principal Prof. Kanupriya, Sports advisor Dr. Sanjay Sinha, Dr. Navin Kumar, Dr. Manish Kumar, Mahendra Prasad, Sujit Kumar, Ravishankar Kumar, among others esteemed guests.
