BRABU joins national anti-drug campaign

Muzaffarpur, Aug 1: BR Ambedkar Bihar University  is all set to throw its weight behind the nationwide ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat- Sankalp Abhiyan’, which will be launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 2.

The campaign, driven by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and My Bharat, seeks to awaken the country’s youth against the menace of drug abuse and push them towards a healthier, more disciplined lifestyle. Students across India have been asked to take the Nasha Mukt Bharat Pledge online. At BRABU, a live telecast of the Prime Minister’s address will be shown and a collective Nasha Mukti Sankalp (pledge) will be administered at the Senate Hall of the Central Library.

BRABU has directed all its students, teachers and staff to join the movement in large numbers. Similar programmes have also been planned in all constituent colleges of the university to ensure maximum participation.

Speaking on the initiative, Vice-Chancellor Prof Dinesh Chandra Rai said, “Drug abuse is one of the biggest challenges facing our youth today. This campaign is a timely and powerful step by the Prime Minister to create a drug-free generation. I urge every student of our university to take the pledge with full sincerity. 

He further added, “BRABU will ensure that this message reaches every classroom and campus. A healthy mind and body are the foundation of a progressive nation, and BRABU stands fully committed to this national mission.”

The university has also released detailed guidelines and promotional material to facilitate maximum participation. Students can take the online pledge and download their certificates.
