Muzaffarpur, Mar 2: BR Ambedkar Bihar University Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dinesh Chandra Rai, on Monday described the festival of Holi as a quintessential reflection of academic and social cohesion. In a festive communique issued by the VC Secretariat, Prof. Rai framed the occasion as an intellectual and cultural bridge that connects the diverse components of the campus.
Prof. Rai articulated that the spectrum of colors synonymous with Holi serves as a metaphor for the intersectionality of disciplines within the university. "Just as various pigments merge to create a vibrant canvas, our institution draws its strength from the convergence of different ideologies and scholarly perspectives. Holi is the ultimate celebration of this institutional synthesis," Prof. Rai remarked.
Emphasizing the university’s role as a custodian of local traditions, Prof. Rai highlighted BRABU’s commitment to preserving regional cultural heritage. He noted that the university serves as a vital link between ancestral wisdom and modern knowlege, ensuring that the unique cultural ethos of North Bihar is both documented and celebrated within the academic discourse.
VC Prof. Rai further observed that the festival marks a period of "scholastic rejuvenation," where the traditional bonfire of Holika Dahan should be viewed as a symbolic purging of stagnation and the pursuit of enlightenment over ignorance. Prof. Rai emphasized that for a premier institution like BRABU, the festival reinforces a shared commitment to a "harmonious ecosystem" where merit and brotherhood coexist.
He also issued a specific directive for a "Conscious Holi," urging students and faculty to adopt sustainable practices. He advocated for the use of "eco-sensitive" materials and a mindful approach to celebrations, ensuring that the festive spirit does not compromise the university’s environmental or ethical standards.
Concluding his message, Prof. Rai expressed his vision for the post-festive season, hoping the effervescence of the celebrations would translate into a surge of creative energy and rigorous research output across all departments.
Prof. Rai was joined by a cohort of distinguished academicians, including NAAC Advisor Prof. BS Rai, LS College Principal Prof. Kanupriya, Prof. Rajeev Kumar, Prof. TK Dey, Dr. Shartendu Shekhar, and Dr. Navin Kumar, in extending greetings to the entire university fraternity.
