
Budgam, May 2 A man injured in a road traffic accident in the Gurwath area of Khansahib in Budgam district died on Saturday after his condition deteriorated during treatment, officials said.
The deceased has been identified as Mushtaq Ahmed Bhat, about 40, son of Late Abdul Khaliq Bhat, a resident of Gurwath Kalan.
According to officials, the accident occurred earlier in the day in the Gurwath area, following which the injured was shifted to Primary Health Centre Khansahib for initial treatment.
He was later referred to Bone and Joint Hospital Barzulla in Srinagar for advanced care after sustaining multiple injuries.
Officials said the patient was initially reported to be stable. However, his condition worsened suddenly at the hospital, and he became unconscious.
He was shifted to the emergency theatre, where efforts were made to revive him, but he could not be saved and was declared dead.
