The Inter-District Provincial Level IDPL Under-17 Girls Football Championship 2025 concluded today with District Budgam lifting the coveted title after a gripping final showdown against District Srinagar. The closely contested match, held at the Government College of Physical Education GCOPE Gadoora Ganderbal, saw Budgam seal their victory with a decisive 1-0 scoreline, earning them the championship trophy and district-wide acclaim.Earlier in the day, the fight for third place witnessed an equally competitive display between host District Ganderbal and District Baramulla. Dominating the pitch with confidence and skill, the Ganderbal girls secured a 2-0 win, ensuring the third position remained with the home district.
The closing ceremony of the tournament was marked by the presence of Sheikh Shafqat Iqbal, District Youth Services and Sports Officer DYSSO Ganderbal, who congratulated the winners and appreciated the enthusiasm shown by all participants throughout the event.In his address, he underscored the importance of sports in shaping well-rounded individuals and highlighted its pivotal role in combating substance abuse among the youth. He also lauded the organizers, officials, and volunteers for their exemplary coordination and successful conduct of the championship.
