
J&K farmers connect with national markets at Kolkata Buyer-Seller Meet
Minister for Agriculture Production Department, Rural Development Department, and Panchayati Raj, Cooperative and Election Department, Javid Ahmad Dar, today attended the Buyer-Seller Meet at Kolkata.
The event, organised by the Department of Horticulture Planning & Marketing, J&K, was aimed to provide a platform for farmers to access national-level marketing opportunities and uplift the agriculture and horticulture sector of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Buyer-Seller meet also provided a platform for farmers from J&K to connect with buyers from Kolkata, officers of Government of West Bengal and other stakeholders and promote the agriculture and horticulture produce of J&K at the national level, enhancing market access for local farmers.
The objective of meet was to bridge the gap between farmers and buyers, promoting direct marketing and enhancing the income of farmers from J&K and to boost the agriculture and horticulture sector of the region, contributing to the overall economic development of Jammu and Kashmir.
The event saw participation from around 300 stakeholders, including buyers, officials, and farmers from J&K.
