Kolkata, June 2: SpearGunners under the Spear Corps facilitated a career counselling seminar in Kolkata, West Bengal, for outgoing Agniveers, focusing on guiding them towards future employment and educational opportunities after completion of their military tenure.

The interactive session brought together experts from the Indian Institute of Career Counselling (IICC), who provided detailed guidance on diverse career pathways available in the civilian sector. The experts highlighted opportunities in higher education, government and private sector employment, entrepreneurship, and vocational skill development.
Participants were briefed on how to align their military training and discipline with civilian career requirements, with special emphasis on skill enhancement, certification programs, and competitive examination preparation. The session also aimed at helping Agniveers understand emerging job markets and sectors with high growth potential.
Organisers stated that the initiative is part of broader efforts to ensure a smooth and well-structured transition for Agniveers as they move from military service to civilian life, equipping them with the tools needed for sustainable livelihoods and long-term career planning.
