
Srinagar, Aug 7: A delegation of Chamber of Commerce & Industries Kashmir (CCIK) led by its Convener Umar Jan Wani on Friday called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and put forth various important matters related to promotion of business, industries, tourism and trade sectors of Jammu Kashmir.
A CCIK spokesman said a detailed memorandum highlighting several issues concerning the business, industrial, trade, tourism and education sectors in Jammu & Kashmir was handed over to Lt Governor.
“Among the key issues raised by CCIK was the matter of industrial land allotment by the Department of Industries & Commerce. The delegation highlighted difficulties being faced by entrepreneurs and investors regarding the allotment process and requested timely intervention,” he said.
The Lieutenant Governor informed the delegation that the matter would be addressed and reiterated that necessary directions have already been issued to the concerned departments to resolve the issue and facilitate industrial growth in the Union Territory, the CCIK spokesman said.
He said the delegation also raised the issue of CID verification of Managing Committee Members of private schools, stating that the existing procedure is causing difficulties for educational institutions.
The Lieutenant Governor assured the delegation that the matter would be examined sympathetically, he said.
The CCIK delegation also discussed several other recommendations contained in the memorandum relating to industrial development, ease of doing business, MSME support, tourism promotion, infrastructure development, access to credit, skill development, solar and EV infrastructure, delayed payments to MSMEs and policy facilitation.
