The CCIK welcomed the decision of Jammu and Kashmir Bank to extend the repayment deadline under its Special One-Time Settlement (OTS) Scheme by two months, now valid up to September 1, 2025.
In a statement issued today, Ghani said the extension comes as a much-needed relief for the Business Fraternity which continues to recover from the economic disruptions caused by recent events, including the April 22 incident in Pahalgam that dealt a blow to the tourism industry. Ccik appreciated the responsiveness of J&K Bank, particularly the leadership of Managing Director and CEO Amitava Chatterjee, for understanding the ground realities faced by business owners and taking timely action.
He also expressed gratitude to the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, the Chief Minister and other senior officials who facilitated the decision. Ghani said such measures restore confidence among small and medium business owners, especially in the hospitality sector, and help prevent further financial stress.
