Indian cricket team has again clicked ICC champions trophy and boosted the pride and stature of the country and its 150 crore Indians with its assertive and categorical win against New Zealand in the final match of ICC trophy .It is really a momentous time and prideful event for India .Indian cricket eleven and its Capitan Rohit Sharma and all its players deserve a pat at their back for this emphatic win which has enhanced the stature of India at the international level .It is a matter of pride and satisfaction for India ,Indian team and all Indians that our team has brought laurels to nation by becoming champions again. The fact is that India cricket eleven has won for the third time.
Bravo Indian team ,but its players should not become complacent but play in future with great vigor ,enthusiasm and in the spirit of real sportsmanship and continue to win matches in future as well. An ‘’emphatic win’’ for India in sports , usually referring to cricket ,means a decisive and dominant victory where the Indian team outperformed their opponents by a large margin ,showcasing superior skills and strategy ,often with a significant score difference and leaving little room for doubt about the outcome ,essentially, a clear and convincing win.
Same happened yesterday on 9th of March when Indian team won the ICC champions trophy third time boosting India’s stature in the international sports .India beat New Zealand in the final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.India defeated New Zealand by five wickets to secure their third Champions Trophy title. India chased down a target of 252 runs,with Rohit Sharma leading from the front with a blistering half-century to set the tone for their successful chase. In fact India beat New Zealand by 4 wickets and won decisively the ICC Champions Trophy final 2025 against NeMaatw Zealand. The Kiwis ,who were missing leading bowler Matt Henry due to injury ,posted 251—7 batting first ,but Rohit Sharma lead the chase with a half-century.
The trophy was clicked by India in Dubai after India refused to travel to host nation Pakistan. India went undefeated in the tournament and was the only side to beat New Zealand in their group –stage fixture. Both teams have won the tournament previously ,India in 2002 and 2013 and New Zealand in 2000.India have won the trophy after surviving a nervy chase to see off a determined New Zealand side. In fact victory wraps up a brilliant tournament that saw them winning all their matches in Dubai. Indian captain Rohit Sharma ended all speculations about his potential retirement from one –day internationals in the post –match news conference. Rohit and Virat Kohli both announced their retirements from T20 internationals upon winning the T20 World cup last year.
It led to rumors’ that something similar may happen in Dubai on Sunday. ’’One thing is clear ,’’Rohit said at the end of the news conference ,’’I am not going to retire from the format ,just to make sure that no rumors’ are spread moving forward .’’As team India clinched the ICC Champions Trophy by defeating New Zealand by four wickets in a thrilling final on Sunday,March 9,Bollyhood actress Kriti Sanon shared her excitement about the win as the entire nation celebrates this monumental victory. Speaking to the media at the ongoing IIFA 2025 awards in Jaipur ,Kriti recalled the moment when she first heard the ‘’shouting about hooting.’’ ‘’When I heard all the shouting and hooting, I thought ,’who has entered? And then of course ,I realized it was a double celebration! I am extremely proud and so happy. Tonight, we are not only celebrating 25 years of IIFA but also India’s victory ,’’she said .’’Celebrating IIFA’s 25th anniversary in India ,among our own people ,makes it even more special .And now, with India’s win ,it is truly a double celebration,’’ Kriti added. Team India delivered an exceptional all-round performance to secure the ICC Champions Trophy title in Dubai. Captain Rohit Sharma led from the front with a crucial half-century,while Shreyas Iyer’s solid knock and impressive bowling from spinner Varun Chakravarty and Kuldeep Yadav sealed the win.
This also marks India’s third ICC Champions Trophy victory .The Indian team first won in 2002,sharing the title with Sri Lanka ,and later lifted the Trophy under MS Doni’s captaincy in 2013.Team India star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja said that he bats at a position in one-day cricket where he gets a chance to become either a hero or a zero after Men in Blue’s emphatic win over New Zealand on Sunday. India thumped the Kiwis by four wickets in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final at Dubai International Cricket Stadium to lift their second ICC trophy in as many years .India also won the T20 World Cup 2024 in the USA and the West Indies and this cup is India’s first ODI major trophy in the last 12 years after the 2013 Champions Trophy win. Luckily ,Hardik and KL batted really well in the last 10 overs and stitched a crucial partnership. It was not easy to score runs in the middle but credit goes to both of them as they took a lot of pressure from us ,’’said Jadeja to broadcasters after the win.
We can say India sealed an unprecedented third Champions Trophy triumph with an unblemished record as Rohit Sharma combined his inherent freedom ,cricketing skill with steely resolve to inspire his side to a four –wicket win in a closely –fought final against New Zealand on Sunday. It is worth noting that India won the trophy without losing a match ,reflecting their dominance in the tournament which they won back in 2002 and 2013.No other team of the world has won the event thrice and it is a big feather in the cap of Indian team and India as well. Prime minister Narendra Modi hailed the Indian Cricket team for winning the ICC Champions Trophy and said they have played wonderfully through the tournament. Modi wrote on X ‘’An exceptional game and an exceptional result! Proud of our cricket team for bringing home the ICC Champions Trophy.
’’When Jedeja was asked what this title means to him, he responded, ’’this is a massive moment for me. It takes a lot of pride to win a big tournament for India. Luckily ,we have won two back to back ICC Trophies and we are really happy with it. ’’Chasing 251,India got off a strong start but New Zealand fought back valiantly ,taking the contest deep. It was the combined effort from the middle order consisting of Shreyas Iyer ,KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya, which helped India close the game. Jadeja hit winning runs as India lifted their third Champions Trophy. To conclude, it can be said that this win is extraordinary, assertive, decisive and emphatic add any number of adjectives as you like as this win deserves it. Indian team should excel in the future as well and there should be no complacency.
