Kupwara, April 14: Today, Kashmir Women’s Organisation, along with its members, organized a plantation drive of Chinar trees. It has been emphasized that Chinar, being associated with our culture, needs to be promoted as our cultural tree. Kashmir Women’s Organisation, while planting Chinar trees at different places in North Kashmir, stressed the need to preserve and revive the culture and traditions of Kashmir, as the Chinar tree is one of the historical trees. While appealing to the common people to promote and preserve the environment, the plantation of trees is a must. Kashmir Women’s Organisation is highly indebted to civil society for collaboration in the drive, making this plantation a process to preserve the environment from global warming. This is just a message to the common people to plant Chinar trees more and more, as they are dying and decreasing.
