December 11, 2025 | BK News Service

A Chinese national was deported from Srinagar on Wednesday after authorities found that he had entered Jammu and Kashmir without a valid visa permitting travel to the Union Territory, officials said.

The individual, identified as Mr. Congtai, was intercepted by local police after it came to notice that his visa conditions did not allow entry into Jammu and Kashmir. According to police sources, the visa issued to the Chinese national was restricted to specific destinations, including Varanasi, Agra, New Delhi, Jaipur, Sarnath, Gaya, and Kushinagar. Jammu and Kashmir was not among the permitted locations mentioned in the travel document.
Following verification of travel records and preliminary inquiry, the police initiated deportation proceedings as per standard protocol. The authorities said the action was taken after confirming that the entry into the Union Territory was in violation of visa norms.
Police information revealed that the Chinese national had arrived in Srinagar on December 1, 2025, aboard IndiGo flight 6E 6762 from New Delhi. He remained in the region until the matter was detected by the local police, which subsequently coordinated with immigration and airport authorities to arrange his return.
Police sources said that today, Mr. Congtai was deported from Srinagar Airport and sent back to Delhi on Air India Express flight.
Police reiterated that strict enforcement of visa regulations remains in place and any violation related to unauthorized travel or stay is dealt with in accordance with the law.
