Chronic traffic congestion plagues Rambagh area on a daily basis

November 08, 2024 | BK News Service

Commuters in Srinagar's Rambagh area are facing daily woes due to massive traffic jams, particularly during evening hours. The flyover, intended to alleviate congestion, has become a bottleneck, with even ambulances getting stuck in the gridlock. This persistent issue has been a source of frustration for residents and travelers alike.
Commuters said that the traffic jams have become a routine affair, with vehicles crawling at a snail's pace during peak hours. The situation is further complicated by drivers preferring the traditional route from Channapora to Lal Chowk, despite authorities designating an alternate route near Natipora.
"The traffic jam at Rambagh flyover has become a daily affair, causing immense inconvenience to commuters. Even ambulances get stuck, which is alarming and requires immediate attention from the authorities," said a local resident.
The authorities' efforts to divert traffic through the alternate route have yielded little result, as drivers seem reluctant to change their routes.
