Srinagar, Aug 8: The Jammu and Kashmir Police Counter-Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) wing on Saturday raided five districts in the valley to crack down on suspected terror-related activities, online misuse and alleged radicalisation networks, officials said.

Officials said the raids were carried out in Kupwara, Baramulla, Anantnag, Shopian and Bandipora in connection with FIR number 03/2023 registered at Police Station CIK, Srinagar, under Sections 505 and 153-A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and Sections 13 and 18 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
The searches were conducted on the basis of warrants issued by the competent court as part of the ongoing investigation, they said.
“During the searches, investigators recovered and seized electronic devices, digital storage media and other material suspected to be relevant to the case. The seizures were made in the presence of independent witnesses and in accordance with prescribed legal procedures,” officials said
According to officials, the seized material would be subjected to detailed forensic examination to establish its relevance and assist investigators in taking the probe forward.
The searches form part of the CIK's ongoing investigation into the 2023 case.
“Further action will follow based on the findings of the forensic examination and other evidence gathered during the investigation,” the official said.
