
New Delhi, Sep 18: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Dhiraj Seth, during his ongoing official visit to Russia, held discussions with senior Russian defence officials on strengthening military cooperation between the two countries.
General Seth visited the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation and interacted with General Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, Deputy Minister of Defence.
The discussions focused on joint capability development, professional military exchanges and expanding military-to-military engagements between India and Russia.
The interaction provided an opportunity to review areas of mutual interest and explore avenues for further enhancing cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries.
During the visit, the COAS also called on Vinay Kumar, Ambassador of India to the Russian Federation, and discussed matters concerning India-Russia bilateral cooperation.
The meeting also focused on measures to further strengthen defence ties and deepen existing military cooperation between the two countries.
The visit underscores the continued engagement between India and Russia in the defence sector and the importance attached to strengthening institutional and professional military exchanges.
