COAS reviews Assam readiness

Dinjan , July 29: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Dhiraj Seth on Wednesday visited Dinjan in Assam and reviewed the operational preparedness of the Indian Army’s Dao Division and Spearhead Division.

During his visit, the Army chief was briefed on the formations’ operational capabilities, deployment readiness and ongoing initiatives aimed at enhancing combat effectiveness. He also witnessed the latest technology absorption measures and indigenous innovations being integrated by the units.
Commending the formations for their efforts towards transformation, General Seth appreciated their focus on becoming a technology-driven, agile and future-ready force capable of responding effectively to emerging security challenges.
Interacting with troops, the COAS exhorted personnel to maintain a high level of alertness, operational flexibility and professionalism. He emphasised the importance of continuous innovation, modernisation and preparedness to safeguard national security interests while contributing towards peace and stability in the region.
During the ongoing visit, General Seth also reviewed the Indian Army’s ongoing humanitarian assistance and flood relief operations in Assam, where several areas have been affected by rising waters and natural calamities.
The Army chief directed formation commanders to extend all possible support to civil authorities and ensure timely assistance reaches flood-affected communities. He appreciated the efforts of Army personnel engaged in rescue, relief and support operations during the challenging situation.
The visit reaffirmed the Indian Army’s commitment towards maintaining operational readiness while standing with citizens during emergencies and natural disasters. The Army continues to combine its defence responsibilities with humanitarian efforts, strengthening its role as a reliable force for both national security and public service.
