
New Delhi, Jan 6: College Students from Jammu and Kashmir’s border district of Poonch met President of India, Draupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday, marking the most significant highlight of the National Integration Tour organised by Indian Army.
The tour was organised by Poonch Brigade under the aegis of Ace of Spade Division of White Knight Corps and was flagged off from Poonch on January 3 by Brig Sachindra Joshi, VSM, Commander, Poonch Brigade. The initiative aims to provide meaningful exposure to youth from border areas by connecting them with India’s leadership, institutions and national heritage.
The delegation comprises 22 students (13 boys and 9 girls) from Shri Krishan Chander Government Degree College, Poonch. The interaction with the Hon’ble President proved to be an inspiring and defining moment for the students, reinforcing values of national pride, responsibility and service.
During their visit to the national capital, the students also interacted with GOC Delhi Area, Lt Gen Bhavish Kumar, AVSM, VSM, who encouraged them to contribute positively to society. The itinerary includes visits to the National War Memorial, PM Sangrahalaya, National Museum, Jallianwala Bagh and the Golden Temple.
The National Integration Tour reflects the Indian Army’s sustained commitment towards youth engagement, national integration and nation building particularly in border regions.
