Commuters face traffic congestion on Chadoora bridge

June 09, 2026 | Mohammad Danish

Chadoora, June 8: Residents of Chadoora and adjoining areas are facing daily hardships due to severe traffic congestion near a key bridge, causing frequent delays and disruption in movement of people and essential services.

Locals said the narrow bridge has become a major bottleneck, particularly during peak hours, leading to long traffic jams and inconvenience for school-going children, office commuters, patients and transport operators. They said the situation worsens during emergencies when ambulances and essential service vehicles struggle to pass through.
Residents alleged that despite repeated requests to authorities, no substantial improvement or widening work has been undertaken, leaving commuters dependent on a single congested route.
They said the regular traffic snarls not only waste valuable time but also increase fuel consumption and add to air pollution in the area.
Locals have urged the administration and concerned departments to expedite the construction of an alternative bridge or expansion of the existing structure to ease traffic pressure and ensure smooth connectivity between Chadoora and adjacent localities.
They stressed that immediate intervention is needed to address the growing traffic crisis and provide long-term relief to thousands of daily commuters
