Budgam, Feb 16Youth Services and Sports Department successfully conducted selection trials in the discipline of Cricket under the title of Panchayat Level Youth Engagement Activities at Open Ground Arath Budgam.These trials were organized by Zonal Physical Education Office Soibug for boys under the age category of u-17 and u-19.The event was held under the supervision of Incharge Zonal Physical Education Officer Soibug Syed Zahoor Ahmed.A total of 123 enthusiastic young players from different panchayats of Block Soibug and Waterhail participated with great enthusiasm, discipline and true sportsmanship.

The main objective of this initiative is to identify and nurture the talent present at the grassroots level in cricket by providing opportunities to the players to compete at higher levels.The programme also aims to promote physical fitness, teamwork, discipline and positive youth involvement among the youth of the area.The department reiterated its commitment to encourage sports culture at the grassroots level and channelize the energy of the youth towards constructive and healthy activities.
