The 181 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) successfully organized a free medical camp in Surasyar, Chadoora, Budgam, as part of its Civic Action Programme, drawing an overwhelming response with 257 civilian patients from remote villages receiving critical healthcare services.
Inaugurated by Sh. Abhinav Bhushan, Commandant of 181 Bn CRPF, the initiative saw collaboration between CRPF officers, the Block Medical Officer (BMO) Chadoora team, E/181Bn CRPF personnel, and local police. Conducted under the banner “Health First & Our Health, Our Duty,” the camp aimed to bridge healthcare gaps for underserved communities while fostering stronger ties between security forces and residents.
Under the supervision of Sh. Manoj Patil, Assistant Commandant and head of Eco Coy/181 Bn CRPF in Surasyar, the event provided free medical checkups, consultations, and medicines through a joint team of CRPF medical personnel and doctors from Sub-District Hospital Chadoora.
Patients from far-flung areas benefited from specialized care, addressing ailments ranging from chronic conditions to seasonal illnesses.
Commandant Bhushan emphasized the camp’s dual objective: “Accessible healthcare is a fundamental right, and through such initiatives, we aim not only to serve but also to build trust and goodwill within communities.” The program aligns with the CRPF’s broader mission of citizen-friendly policing, confidence-building, and strengthening grassroots connections in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Civic Action Programme underscores the CRPF’s commitment to prioritizing public welfare alongside national security. By addressing immediate healthcare needs and engaging directly with locals, the 181 Bn CRPF continues to reinforce its role as a catalyst for social upliftment and communal harmony in the region.
