
Ganderbal, June 11: The Department of Urdu, Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir), organized a two-day syllabus review and curriculum development workshop on June 9–10, 2026, to revise the existing curriculum and prepare the syllabus for its newly introduced One-Year Postgraduate Programme in Urdu.
The workshop was chaired by Prof. Sandhya Tiwari, Dean, School of Languages, and attended by faculty members, research scholars, and external experts including Prof. Arifa Bushra and Prof. Altaf Anjum.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Tiwari appreciated the department’s efforts in timely curriculum revision and emphasized the inclusion of Skill Education, Women-Centric Literature, and Ecocriticism in the new syllabus in line with NEP-2020. She also highlighted the importance of early research engagement for postgraduate students.
HoD Urdu, Dr. Nusrat Jabeen, said the syllabus was thoroughly reviewed to align with contemporary academic needs and NEP-2020 guidelines, with a focus on improving structure, learning outcomes, and relevance.
The workshop concluded with the preparation of the syllabus for the new PG programme and a vote of thanks by Dr. Mohammad Rashid Azeez.
