
Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir) today joined hands with the Jammu and Kashmir’s anti-graft body, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), and organized a Vigilance Awareness Rally as part of the ongoing Vigilance Awareness Week-2025. The rally, themed “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility,” was flagged off by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. A. Ravinder Nath, from the university’s Green Campus here. Registrar, Prof. Nisar Ahmad Mir, Dean Students, Welfare, Prof. Irfan Aalam, NSS Coordinator, Dr. Shabir Ahmad, Youth Welfare Officers, faculty members, ACB officials, faculty of Degree college Ganderbal, teachers from educational institutions were present.
The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of the CUKashmir, Government Degree College Ganderbal, and several other educational institutions of the district. Students carried banners and placards bearing impactful messages, urging the public to take an active stand against corrupt practices and to uphold the principles of honesty and transparency in all spheres of life.
Addressing the gathering, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. A. Ravinder Nath said corruption undermines the moral and economic fabric of the nation and that institutions of higher education bear a special responsibility in nurturing ethical citizens. “Our youth are the torchbearers of integrity. Universities must lead by example—by promoting transparency, accountability, and a zero-tolerance culture toward corruption,” he remarked.
Registrar, Dr. Nisar Ahmad Mir, underscored the importance of creating awareness among the younger generation about the detrimental impact of corruption on societal development. “Fighting corruption is not just a legal duty—it is a moral imperative. Every small act of honesty contributes to the building of a stronger and more equitable nation,” he stated.
The rally, comprising students, faculty members, and ACB personnel, moved through the main streets of Ganderbal and culminated at the Clock Tower, where participants raised slogans echoing their resolve to fight corruption in all forms. The streets reverberated with chants calling for transparency, accountability, and good governance, drawing attention from local residents and passersby who applauded the initiative.
