
On the international day of drug abuse a Cycle race was organized from Rizvi Stop Magam to Gulmarg at an altitude of 8,700 feet above sea level to keep the youth away from drugs and sports.
About 100 cyclists, including national and international, took part in the 30-kilometer race. 50-year-old Basharat Hussain also took part in the race.
The race was started from Rizvi Staff Magam Budgam and ended at the tourist destination of Gulmarg to celebrate the International Day against drug abuse and to encourage youth to stay away from drugs.
The event was organized by Syed Ali Asgar Razvi, a well known businessman and a social activist of the Valley. Razvi has taken a unique initiative to organize a cycle race on the name of the second edition of Cycle Strike, an initiative taken to keep the youth away from drugs and other crimes and to attract towards sports.
On this occasion Transport Commissioner Kashmir Bhupinder Kumar was the chief guest, Ghulam Jilani Zargar, Managing Director, Gulmarg Gondola and Chief Executive Officer, Gulmarg Development Authority, President of Jammu and Kashmir Bank and other officers were also present.Transport Commissioner
Bhupinder Kumar expressed happiness on the organization of this event and said the youth of Kashmir have a lot of potential and need to channelize their energy in good directions.
