Dal Lake sees tourist rush

Srinagar, June 12: The iconic Dal Lake in Srinagar witnessed a steady flow of tourists as visitors thronged the world-famous waterbody to enjoy serene Shikara rides and experience the natural beauty of Kashmir.

Tourists from different parts of the country and abroad were seen soaking in the scenic charm of the lake, gliding through calm waters surrounded by majestic mountains, floating gardens, and traditional houseboats.
Shikara operators reported brisk activity throughout the day, with families, couples, and groups of travellers spending hours on the lake, capturing photographs and enjoying the peaceful ambience.
Local stakeholders associated with the tourism sector expressed satisfaction over the renewed tourist footfall, saying that Dal Lake continues to remain one of the most preferred destinations for visitors to Srinagar.
Officials said efforts are being made to further improve facilities and ensure a smooth and safe experience for tourists visiting the lake, which remains a key pillar of Kashmir’s tourism economy.
