
Day three of the Chinar Book Festival 2025, held at SKICC, Srinagar, celebrated Kashmir’s diverse languages through a blend of workshops, panel discussions and performances. Visitors from all walks of life continued to immerse themselves in a unique space where literature, folklore, and creativity converged. In a historic moment, the First-Ever Gojri Translation Workshop was inaugurated today at SKICC, Srinagar, by Prof. Milind Sudhakar Marathe (Chairman, NBT-India). He underlined the importance of bringing out books in local languages while emphasising that all languages are national languages and have similar importance. On this A musical storytelling session of The Blue Umbrella by Vasudha and Kunal transported children into the world of Ruskin Bond through melody and imagination.
A mural art activity encouraged children to design creative biography covers for their idols, blending art and admiration, while a theatre workshop, conducted by Farman and Muskan, got children singing, acting, and expressing themselves with energy and joy. As evening set in, the Mehak Dramatic Club took centre stage under the Kala-e-Kashmir segment, performing powerful theatrical pieces. Ajaz Rah captivated the audience with his soulful musical performance, blending poetry and melody in a heartfelt tribute to Kashmiri culture. The performances were met with enthusiastic applause from an audience that continues to grow in both number and spirit.
