
Srinagar, Aug 6: District Administration Srinagar today organized a felicitation function to acknowledge and appreciate the efforts of Officers and Officials of National Book Trust, District Administration and Police involved in the successful conduct of the Chinar Book Festival.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo, was the Chief Guest of the occasion who felicitated the Director National Book Trust, Yuvraj Malik, Chief Convenor, Chinar Book Festival Amit Wanchoo, Coordinator, National Book Trust, Shoba Kapoor, Joint Commissioner SMC, Nuzhat Khurshid, Additional CEO SSCL, Suhail ul Islam, Dy SP Traffic Police, Mehboob ul Haq, Chief Education Officer, Ghulam Mohi-Ud-Din,
Executive Engineer Water Works, Aijaz Rafiq Shah, Executive Engineer, KPDCL, Syed Abrar,Operations Head SKICC, Shahnawaz Ahmad, GM SRTC, Habib Ulla Reshi, SHO Nishat, Parvaiz Wani, Teacher BHSS Gulabbagh, Nazrana for their dedicated efforts, effective coordination and commitment that contributed towards the smooth and successful organization of the mega literary event.
The felicitation event was attended by SSP Traffic Police, Aijaz Ahmad, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mir Imtiyaz Ul Aziz, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Aadil Fareed, SP East, Neha Jain, Chief Planning Officer, Fayaz Ahmad Dar, and other concerned.
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner appreciated the role played by various Departments and teams in ensuring seamless arrangements during the festival. He said that the successful conduct of such a large-scale event was a result of collective efforts, meticulous planning, inter-departmental coordination and dedicated teamwork.
The DC stated that such events are essential to properly channelize the talent and energy of the younger generation, particularly students, and encourage them to develop a reading habit. He added that literary events like the Chinar Book Festival provide an excellent platform for students and youth to engage with books, authors and diverse ideas, thereby nurturing creativity, knowledge and intellectual growth.
The DC lauded the Officers for their professionalism, sense of responsibility and commitment towards creating a vibrant platform for readers, writers, publishers, students and literature enthusiasts. He emphasized that such events not only promote the culture of reading but also provide opportunities for intellectual exchange and engagement among diverse sections of society.
