
Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Akshay Labroo , chaired a meeting with Jal Shakti engineers to review the implementation of water supply projects under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0 in the district.
The DC emphasized accelerating project completion to ensure quality and timely water availability for urban areas. He directed officers to resolve any issues through inter-departmental coordination and expedite pending Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) and tendering processes.
Officials informed that 20 projects have been approved for Srinagar city, with 18 already tendered and allotted. Upon completion, the city is expected to be self-sufficient in meeting its water demand for the foreseeable future.
The meeting included key officers from Water Works, Rural Water Works, PHE Mechanical, I&FC, and planning departments.
