Deputy Commissioner Samba, Abhishek Sharma on Wednesday chaired the Block Divas at Panchayat Rehain. The event saw active participation from DDC members, ACR, Exen Jal Shakti, Tehsildar, BDO, AEE PDD, CDPO, former PRIs and a large number of locals.
Several issues were raised by the general public during the Block Divas, including unsafe condition of a health department building, additional inclusion of beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), pending payments under Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM), demarcation of land near the cremation ground, water supply shortage, and replacement of a damaged transformer at Panjtila.
Responding to these issues, the DC directed the Executive Engineer PWD to submit a report on the status of the health department building. He also instructed the Tehsildar to carry out the demarcation and fencing of state land near the cremation ground. The BDO was directed to expedite the release of payments to genuine beneficiaries under the SBM after thorough verification. Additionally, the Exen Jal Shakti was tasked with ensuring water supply to every household under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM). The DC also ordered the replacement of the damaged transformer at Panjtila and the appointment of a new Namberdar at Rehian.
The DC urged the officers to remain vigilant and proactive in addressing the community's needs.
