
New Delhi, Feb 16: Lieutenant General Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General of the Assam Rifles, met Sh. Shatrujeet Kapur, IPS, Director General of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police, in New Delhi to discuss key issues related to border security and inter-force coordination.
The high-level interaction focused on strengthening cooperation between the two forces, particularly in areas concerning operational synergy, intelligence sharing and coordinated response mechanisms along sensitive border regions. Both leaders exchanged perspectives on emerging security challenges and evolving dynamics that require enhanced preparedness and seamless collaboration.
Discussions also covered best practices in border management, capacity building, training initiatives and the use of technology to improve surveillance and response capabilities. The meeting underscored the importance of maintaining close coordination between central armed police forces to ensure effective monitoring and safeguarding of India’s frontiers.
