Imphal, Sep 26: Director General Assam Rifles Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, along with all ranks of the Assam Rifles, extended greetings and best wishes to the personnel of the Military Engineer Services (MES) on the occasion of MES Day.

The Assam Rifles acknowledged the important contribution of MES personnel in supporting the Armed Forces through their engineering expertise and dedicated service.
MES plays a crucial role in providing and maintaining essential engineering infrastructure for the Armed Forces, including accommodation, roads, utilities and other critical facilities required for operational and administrative functioning.
On the occasion, Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera and all ranks of the Assam Rifles conveyed their appreciation to the officers, engineers, technical staff and other personnel associated with MES for their commitment and professional service.
The occasion also highlighted the importance of engineering support in enabling the Armed Forces to operate effectively across diverse and challenging terrains.
