New Delhi, May 9: Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General of Assam Rifles, along with all ranks of the force, paid solemn tribute to the valiant soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty on May 9, 1994.

The remembrance was observed with deep respect and reverence, honouring the courage and dedication of personnel who laid down their lives while serving the nation. Their sacrifice was acknowledged as a lasting symbol of duty, bravery and commitment to the country.
The Assam Rifles leadership reiterated that the sacrifices of its martyrs continue to inspire serving personnel and strengthen their resolve to uphold peace and security, particularly in sensitive and challenging operational environments.
On the occasion, the force reaffirmed its commitment to preserving the legacy of its fallen heroes and standing steadfast in the service of the nation.
