Ukhrul, June 11: Director General of Assam Rifles, Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, visited Somsai Garrison in Ukhrul, Manipur on Wednesday to review the operational preparedness of troops deployed in the area. During the visit, the DG assessed the prevailing security situation and reviewed the operational readiness of personnel stationed at the garrison. He emphasized the need for sustained vigilance, a strong and responsive security grid, and continued focus on operational excellence in the region. Lt Gen Lakhera interacted with all ranks and appreciated their professionalism, dedication, and high morale while operating under challenging and difficult terrain conditions.
